What is a pal game?

PAL (Phase Alternating Line) is a video broadcasting standard used in many European countries, parts of Africa, Australia, Asia, and South America. PAL games are video games designed to work specifically with this broadcasting standard, which includes a video format of 625 horizontal lines and a frame rate of 25 frames per second. PAL games are primarily designed to work on PAL region consoles, which handle the native video output format of PAL games. PAL games also have different frequencies for audio, which means they may require different audio output settings compared to NTSC (National Television System Committee) games. PAL games are not compatible with NTSC consoles, and vice versa, due to their different video and audio formats.
